What will you do?
With this client, as a Software Architect, you'll have the opportunity to make a decisive contribution to the technological future of our platform. Our current software, a large, monolithic Java application, is at the beginning of a large-scale transformation to a modern, scalable architecture. You'll join a strategic phase where we're charting the course for this transition. This includes researching new technologies, determining the right architectural direction, and designing a future-proof foundation. With your technical vision and leadership, you'll guide this innovation and help our teams realize the next generation of software products. Together with developers, product owners, and stakeholders, you'll lay the foundation for a flexible and sustainable software landscape, where innovation and quality go hand in hand. In this Senior Architect role, you'll combine strategic insight with operational effectiveness. You'll research, design, and define architectural solutions, but you'll also roll up your sleeves as a "working foreman." This way, you'll ensure that the vision doesn't remain on paper but actually comes to life in daily execution and implementation.
What you'll do:
- Design and shape a robust, scalable software architecture that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define technological standards, guidelines, and best practices within the organization.
- Translate the architectural vision into concrete roadmaps and executable plans.
- Guide development teams in implementing architectural decisions and solving complex technical issues.
- Identify risks and develop sustainable solutions to prevent or mitigate them.
- Actively contribute to innovation by researching and evaluating new technologies, frameworks, and trends.
Who are you?
- You have 5-10 years of experience in software development, including 3 years as a Software Architect or Lead.
- Demonstrable experience with migration projects across diverse environments and industries.
- Practical expertise in transforming monolithic applications into service-oriented or microservices architectures.
- Thorough knowledge of software design principles, architecture patterns, and modern development methodologies (such as Agile/Scrum).
- In-depth experience with Java and associated libraries and frameworks (including Spring).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly justify technical choices and build buy-in from various stakeholders.
What can you expect?
- A gross salary of €6,000 – €7,000 based on a 40-hour workweek.
- A bonus scheme (up to an additional monthly salary).
- Full travel reimbursement (€0.23/km or NS business card); a car is negotiable.
- 29.5 vacation days and 8% holiday allowance.
